Shea oil is a superfood for your skin. It is derived from the African Shea (Karite) nut and has a high concentration of oleic and stearic essential fatty acids, vitamins A & E, as well as other nutrients. Shea nut oil is a natural skin conditioner which makes it great for those suffering from very dry skin, eczema or dermatitis.
Safflower oil comes from the seeds of the safflower plant. It is rich in the essential omega-6 fatty acid linoleic and has a high concentration of antioxidants and vitamins which are all necessary for keeping the outer layer of the skin hydrated to keep it from flaking. That is why this oil is great for those suffering from eczema, dermatitis and dry skin. Safflower oil is also non-comedogenic so it will not clog your pores. In fact it sinks deep into the layer of your skin leaving a smooth satin feel.

Do you use preservatives in your products?
Many preservatives have a chemical component to them, including most vegetable-based preservatives. Chemicals are toxic to the body even in small doses. While we continue to search for a truly natural full spectrum preservative, we have found a natural compound that offers some preservative properties. Radish Root Ferment Filtrate is a natural antimicrobial derived from fermented radish roots. This will now be added to the formulations of all our products that contain filtered water and/or aloe vera.
Butters and carrier oils have a natural shelf life of 1-2 years. We also add essential oils and Vitamin E T-50 for their antifungal and antimicrobial attributes to help stave of bacterial growth, however proper care is important to keep product from going bad prematurely.
