Black-strap Molasses. What Can't It Do?

Have you heard of it?  Well, if you haven’t you are missing out on this ultra beneficial byproduct of the refining process of raw cane sugar called, Black-strap Molasses.

Rich in iron, zinc, calcium, manganese, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6, selenium and lactic acid, this dark, thick liquid is considered by some to be a super food boasting benefits both internal and external health.  Some studies even associate Unsulphured Black-strap Molasses with treating ADHD, relief of PMS symptoms and combating stress and anxiety.

HEALTH & BEAUTY TIP

  • Take about two tablespoons mixed in a bit of water each day to help combat anemia, strengthen bones, heals wounds and burns as well as fight acne and other skin issues. 
  • Try using molasses for a facial.  Apply one to two tablespoons to your face and let dry for 3=20-30 minutes then wash off with warm water.  Your skin will glow from this very simple treatment.
  • Apply a diluted mixture of molasses and water to your hair and use as a shampoo to help soften, strengthen and grow your hair and prevent premature graying.

 

Here's a quick recipe for an at home protein treatment to help strengthen your hair.

Things you will need:

  • 1 heaping tablespoon of cottage cheese
  • 2-3 tablespoons of avocado or Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Blender or whisk
  • Bowl
Blend or whisk cottage cheese, oil, Molasses and water in the bowl and put aside.  Shampoo your hair (We suggest our Clarifying Herbal Shampoo but any sulfate free shampoo will do).  Section your hair and apply the mask root to tip. Leave on for 30 minutes and then rinse before applying conditioner. Style as desired.
